Colostrum- BodyBoost
Support for the Immune System

Quality You Can Trust
Colostrum is nature’s first food and is known for
its remarkable life-enhancing properties. This exceptional nutritional
substance is produced by mammal mothers for their newborn and supports
the immune system. It provides a perfect combination of immune and
growth factors including immunoglobulins, lactoferrin and insulin-like
Growth Factor – 1 (IGF-1), amino acids and other important nutrients.
Scientific studies have clearly shown that colostrum
and nutrients derived from colostrum:
Support the immune system.
- Stimulate the normal growth, regeneration and repair of muscle,
skin, collagen, bone cartilage and nerve tissue.
- Improve vitality and athletic performance.
- Enhance the digestive system.
To Maximize Purity and Potency
BodyBoost Colostrum
uses a state-of-the-art manufacturing process:
- Manufactured according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Sourced from USDA and FDA certified dairies.
- Collected within 12 hours of production.
- Free of synthetic hormones, pesticides and antibiotics.
- Processed using minimal heat to ensure the bioavailability of its
nutritional factors.
- Unadulterated to maintain its natural wholeness and nutrition.
- Standardized to provide 25% immunoglobulins. To preserve
BodyBoost’s natural wholesomeness, we do not filter or de-fat this
perfect food, as some companies do which may decrease it of its most
vital and clinically significant qualities.
BodyBoost Colostrum is
"Produced in America"
Produced from healthy, nutritionally
supplemented dairy cows raised in the United States on USDA and FDA
certified dairy farms. These dairy cows are carefully fed a
scientifically designed diet that contains the proper balance of legumes
and grasses along with trace and other minerals to ensure consistently
high potency colostrum. We believe this practice is far superior to
pasture feeding that may allow the dairy cow’s nutrition to chance.
High in immunoglobulin
content. Much of the colostrum being sold today is processed from dairy
cows raised in sub-tropical climates. Our colostrum is from dairy cows
raised in north central United States where the winters are long and
harsh. Calves that are born in the winter months must survive bitter
sub-zero temperatures, the cold northwest winds and the damp, moist
conditions in the barn in their first days of life. The colostrum
produced by their vigorous mothers must be the richest in
immunoglobulins and other important immune and growth factors in order
for their newborn to survive.
Natural Components in Colostrum
Occasionally, many individuals experience general immune deficiency.
Stress, nutritional deficiencies, exposure to pathogens, age, and
unhealthy lifestyles all contribute to poor immune function. A deficient
immune system is unable to effectively battle intruders it would
otherwise fight off. Excessive use of antibiotics is responsible for
creating new and unusual challenges against the immune system.
Colostrum contains high levels of antibodies against a wide range of
bacterial viral and protozoan pathogens as well as against various
bacterial toxins. The antibodies are protected by a component that
shields it from gastric acid and digestive enzymes. Colostrum antibodies
are not believed to be absorbed and digested but to remain in the
intestinal tract after being swallowed where they fight off intruders.
Antibodies present in Colostrum…
Immunoglobulins
IgG – Enhances phagocytosis to neutralize toxins (80-85% of total
antibody serum).
IgA – Protects mucosal surfaces (about 15%).
IgM – Enhances phagocytosis, especially against microorganisms
(5-10%).
IgD – Stimulates B-cells to produce antibodies (.2%).
IgE – Associated with allergic reactions (.002%).
Ccontains antibodies and other components that act against
E-Coli 0157:H7 and 0111:NM, Salmonella, Rotavirus, Coronavirus, and is
effective against most other bacteria and viruses.
Lactoferrin
is an iron binding protein:
makes iron unavailable for needed bacteria reproduction; interferes in
the growth of potentially harmful bacteria in the intestine; diminishes
the damaging effects of free radicals; exerts its effect at the level of
virus absorption or penetration (or both). Contains properties that
fight inflammation.
Proline-Rich Polypeptides (PRP)
is a special regulatory
protein: calms an overactive immune system; stimulates an under active
immune system.
Interferon inhibits viral activity. A glycoprotein
produced by cells that act to prevent the replication of a wide range of
viruses by inducing resistance.
Interleukin –2, a cytokine, stimulates the growth of
cells that constitutes the immune system.
Lysozyme, a protein, that is not digested, but persists in
the gastrointestinal tract where it breaks down the cell walls of
certain unwanted bacteria, preventing their ability to multiply.
Oligosaccharide, a carbohydrate component,
allows proliferation of healthy intestinal bacteria and
interferes with the adherence of undesirable microorganisms.
Oligosaccharides found in colostrum have been shown to block attachment
of a wide variety of bacteria especially S. pheumonococci, to mucous
membranes, therefore, aiding in the prevention of respiratory
inflammations.
Transforming Growth Factor (TGF) is
responsible for normal cell growth and repair. TGF are polypeptides that
promote cell proliferation, tissue repair and maintenance (i.e. wound
healing). Dr. F. J. Ballard found that bovine colostrum contains up to
100 times the mitogenic potency of human colostrum.
Insulin-like Growth Factor I and II (IGF-1 and IGF
– II),
pro-insulin hormones, have anabolic effects. Bovine
and human growth factors have demonstrated ability to stimulate protein
synthesis and inhibit protein degradation. IGF – 1(highest
concentrations available in nature are in bovine colostrum) is a
peptide, an amino acid chain, and resembles the hormone insulin.
Researchers theorize that IGF - 1 in colostrum could encourage muscle
cells to repair themselves more quickly after stress from intense
exercise. IGF-1 and other factors "seal" the gut from
ulceration.
Summary Facts about
Colostrum….
- Promotes homeostatic balance in the body, while antibiotics and
steroids disrupt it, and can be used as a safe, effective
alternative to steroids to block inflammation.
- Has immune factors that are transferable from one species to
another; colostrum from dairy cows has much higher immune factors
than human version. Many immune-compromised adults can benefit
from the nutritional support from colostrum supplementation.
- Increases healthy intestinal microflora population, better
utilizes the nutrients in the foods we eat, and provides an
unfavorable environment for enteric pathogens. Colostrum also
supports a more stable, stronger defense against infection by
micro-organisms, albeit, bacteria, viruses, or parasites, which
especially seek a weakened host.
- Is a way to help maintain the immune system and help strengthen
the gut especially for adults whose immune system might be weakened
