VITALZYM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- WHAT IS ENZYME THERAPY?
Enzyme therapy is a form of therapy that has evolved from naturopathy. Today
it has a firm place in the spectrum of treatment available under the aegis of
mainstream medicine. Extensive research made this possible.
- WHAT ARE SYSTEMIC ENZYMES?
The correct term for the therapeutic use of natural enzymes is “Systemic
Enzyme Therapy.” This means that enzymes flow throughout our body, producing
the desire effects.
- HOW DO ENZYMES WORK?
Enzymes work by virtue of their shape. An enzyme molecule can be compared, in
shape at least, to many short strings of pearls (amino acids) strung together.
This long string folds in on itself as certain sequences of amino acids
(pearls) are more attracted to each other than to other sequences, thus giving
the enzymes a specific shape. At one point on the surface of this string of
pearls there exists something, which looks like a keyhole. This is called the
“active site” on the enzyme. When matched with its specific coenzyme (a
vitamin, mineral, or trace element) this “lock” has the exact inverse contour
of the “key” which is contained in the molecule of the enzyme’s “substrate”
(the molecule the enzyme wants to transform into a different molecule). When
the substrate appears, it inserts the “key” into the “lock.” The molecular
structure of the substrate is transformed into a different molecular structure
and both enzyme and the newly transformed molecule go on their merry ways.
- WHAT IS A DIGESTIVE ENZYME?
The job of a digestive enzyme is to break down food during the digestive
process. The intestine is more able to absorb food, which is thus broken down
into smaller units, and the rest of the body is more easily able to utilize
food, which is in this form. There are three basic types of digestive enzymes,
one for each class of food: lipase for fat, protease for protein and amylase
for carbohydrate.
- HOW LONG BEFORE THE VIALZYME TAKES EFFECT?
It may depend on the individual’s physiological make-up. Everyone is
different. Testimonials from some of our customers reported positive effects
ranging from 3 days to 2 weeks.
- WHAT ARE VITALZYM’S CAPSULES MADE OF?
Vitalzym capsules are made from cellulose which is plant derived. Cellulose is
a complex carbohydrate, (C6H10O5)n that is composed of
glucose units forms the main constituent of the cell wall in most
plants.
- WHAT IS THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE OF VITALZYM?
The recommended dosage to be taken at least 45 minutes prior to or after meals
is 3 capsules once a day. However, since each individual is different a higher
or lower dosage may be appropriate for each particular need. (Click here to
see “Vitalzym Dosing”). There is no toxicity associated with the product at
any level.
- WHAT IS A PROTEOLYTIC ENZYME AS COMPARED TO
A DIGESTIVE ENZYME?
The term “proteolytic” is a catchall term referring to enzymes that digest
protein.
- WHERE IS VITALZYM MADE?
Vitalzyme is manufactured in Phoenix, Arizona. We have a commitment to
excellence. Vitalzym uses ingredients from the purest sources. Our
manufacturing facility meets the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) set for
supplements by the industry. We also operate under the standards and
guidelines of the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP).
- ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS AT ALL WITH
VITALZYM?
You should not take this product with out the consent of your physician if you
are currently taking anti-coagulants. We currently have no documented evidence
of any adverse side effects based on the use of Vitalzym.
- DOES VITALZYM HELP WITH
SEXUAL DISORDERS?
There is no scientific data, no clinical studies to support this at this time.
- HAS THERE BEEN ANY SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH DONE
WITH YOUR PRODUCT?
A clinical study involving Vitalzym is under way at this time. Result will be
published upon completion. Click here for studies involving Vitalzym’s main
ingredient, serrapeptase.
- WHY DON’T YOU MAKE CLAIMS ABOUT VITALZYM?
The FDA does not allow the Nutraceuticals Industry to make claims about their
products without scientific studies being performed that substantiate the
claims.
- WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VITALZYM AND
OTHER ENZYME BASED PRODUCTS?
The enzymes used in Vitalzym are plant derived; where some other enzyme
therapies are derive from bovine (cows).
- DOES WEATHER AFFECT YOUR PRODUCT?
Severe heat can destroy the enzymes. Store in a cool, dry place, with the lid
of the bottle tightly closed.
- ARE ENZYMES CONSIDERED “ANTI-INFLAMMATORY
DRUGS?”
Proteolytic enzymes are considered anti-inflammatory agents.
- ARE THERE ANY INMOMPATIBILITY ISSUES WITH
OTHER NUTRACEUTICALS?
No. In fact since vitamins are actually coenzymes and minerals are cofactors
to enzymes, enzymes are needed in the body for them to be able to have their
full effect. In other words, Systemic Enzyme use enhances the effect of any
program of supplementation.
- ARE THERE ANY INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUES WITH
ANY PRESCRIBED DRUGS?
Yes. Customers on prescription blood thinners should not use Vitalzym or any
other Systemic Enzyme concurrent with the drug use. The enzymes enhance the
effects of the blood thinning medications making them stronger.
